Culture Night is Ireland’s national celebration of culture, creativity and the arts. It takes place all over Galway city and county on Friday 21st September and sparkles well into the night. CÚRAM, the Science Foundation Ireland Centre for Research in Medical Devices based at NUI Galway, has teamed up with the Galway City Arts Office to launch a new Community Art-Science exhibition in Westside.

CHARLIE ADLEY, the Galway based columnist and prize-winning playwright, will host his popular Craft of Writing Course in the Westside Resource Centre this March.

I was on a whirlwind tour of various places in the west of Ireland recently, attending Gorta Self Help Africa events, especially the Gorta Self Help Africa Ball where close on €30,000 was raised for the charity’s work in 10 countries in Africa.
